Within
the frame of the European Vegetation Program, a distribution system has
been implemented to ensure optimum access to the Vegetation data captured
daily over the world by the Vegetation sensor onboard SPOT4, which are
pre-processed and archived by the CTIV production unit in Belgium. Spot
Image has been granted the exclusive license for worldwide distribution
of Vegetation data in coordination with three sublicensees : EO-Works
(Belgium), SATELLUS (Sweden) and Telespazio (Italy). As components of
the distribution system, their major functions include: the promotion
of the Vegetation Program and its products, sales management; development
of marketing strategies, technical support to users, as well as the development
of a Regional Receiving Stations network to complement the central production
capabilities. In order to optimize the impact of the Vegetation program,
Spot Image intend: to improve access to the web sites, their ergonomics
and contents; to develop a multi-media CD-ROM based on the results of
applications and research conducted within the Preparatory Program; to
design targeted brochures; to develop and offer promotional and added
value products; to approach software editors with a view to integrate
HDF format. These aspects, as well as the assets of the program and products,
will be the subjects of Spot Image presentation. |
