Due to SPOT5 power supply constraints, it has been decided to temporarily reduce programming and downloads for VGT2. There is no VGT2 programming during one day, 2012-02-22.<\p>
Only one pass during this day is planned for VGT2, allowing to dump acquisitions remaining in memory.
Return to nominal programming and downloading is planned for 2012-02-23, unless we are noticed of the contrary.
Sorry for the inconvenience.

PhD application “15 years of SPOT/VEGETATION” In the frame of the 15th anniversary of the VEGETATION programme, a contest is organized to employ a PhD student at the Flemish Institute for Technological Research (VITO), to work on the extensive VEGETATION (VGT)-archive for a 4-year period. Also PROBA-VEGETATION (PROBA-V), the VGT follow-on mission can be part of the PhD research subject. The latter is however not a prerequisite. The PhD candidate selected in this contest will be fully funded by VITO. For more information, please consult this document and PowerPoint presentation, describing the contest, or contact walter.debruyn@vito.be Please note that all the fields and documents of the application must be in English, as applications are reviewed by international experts. |

New VEGETATION website online
June 28th, 2010
The VGT1 archive has been reprocessed in order to be consistent over time with the reprocessed VGT2 archive. All P, S1 and S10 data have been recalculated. For VGT1, the difference between the old and new data is very small, a statistical analysis of the data will be carried out. The D10-archive hasn’t been reprocessed due to the complex nature of the processing of these data. More information about the recalibration can be found in FAQ 47 – 50.

20 November 2007 (technical issue regarding the VEGETATION data)
Half november, we were informed by CNES that there was a problem with the
geolocation accuracy of the SPOT5 satellite.
Investigation shows that from 04 October onwards, the geocorrection of
the VEGETATION data does not have the accuracy as it should have.
Accuracy is in the range of 1 to 2 km instead of the usual 300m.
The S10 of 11 november will have a short delay due to the manual
geocorrection for the first 5 days of this ten days product.
The S10 of 01 October, 11 October, 21
October and 01 November will be reprocessed as soon as possible, also with the manual geocorrection to achieve the standard accuracy of 300m.
12 September 2007 (VGT2 active)
All the problems are solved, VGT2 is operational again.
12 September 2007 (VGT2 active)

- The synthesis of 01/09/2007 will be based on VGT2 images only.
- We apologize for this inconvenience.
